About Lover’s Tarot
16-years-old, orphaned, abandoned in a New York City apartment. Your dead mother’s body has been stolen along with the lifetime of wisdom contained in her journal. Fearing commitment to an orphanage, what do you do?
Sasha never knew her father. A random soldier chosen by fate to be one of her mother’s lovers was how she pictured him. Eve never discussed him, hiding her reasons from her daughter, as she hid so much else, including her terminal diagnosis.
Secretive with her young daughter, Eve’s mind and heart were open to her journal where she detailed her relationships with men, her successes and failures, and the philosophy of life as taught by her mentor Klara Sasha Kolabielski decades earlier. Yet, in the waning days of life, knowing her daughter must absorb Klara’s wisdom for a Complete and Joyous Life before her death, Eve presents her journal to Sasha.
The Tarot cards tell Sasha her mother is dying. After the shock, sixteen-year-old Sasha realizes Eve had given her the journal a year earlier for the purpose of grooming her for life alone. She asks her mother, “Is there anything else about being a woman I need to know, other than that one last thing? How to be a lover.”
When Eve dies at home, a man arrives claiming to have been summoned by her. Sasha drops her guard due to his vague familiarity and allows his morticians to take Eve to be buried… but where? Sasha discovers later that he has also taken the journal, but he never returns.
Abandoned in their apartment with the Tarot as her only counselor, the cards direct her to flee the city.
Through her ten-year journey in her mother’s footsteps seeking love and passion, sex and survival, she never loses sight of her goal to find her mother’s resting place and Sasha’s most cherished connection to her, the journal.
NOTICE: Lover’s Tarot includes erotica and some violence.
